IPad mini 2 or mini 4?

As I am waiting (impatiently) for my mavic to arrive. I am considering getting an iPad mini. Does anyone know if there is much of a difference when connected to the mavic?

The Mini 4 is considerably brighter and more powerful than the 2. If you're using it solely for your Mavics FPV, a 16gb model is all you'll need however, consider getting one with 4G so you won't have a need to tether to your phones hotspot for data connectivity.

I would get the 4. Check out your service provider.

I have Verizon, and I got a iPad Mini 4 for $30 a month (I think?) on my account.

That's odd. I have a mini 2 and it fits perfectly in the arms. Very solid and secure, seems like it's made to fit. I didn't have to force it to fit.

My mini 2 fits OK and works without lags. Thickness is not a problem, but length is almost maximal for original mounts. I hope mini 4 fits too (it's 3,2 mm longer).

No, you can pre-download the maps of the areas you are going to fly so data access is not necessary.

not to hijack the thread from OP but would this suffice if ill only use it for flying? wifi only tablet means i have to use my phone as a hotspot to run the app is that right? is there any downside to it? cheers!

Minimum of six months, maybe a year and a half to two years.

It has the same internals as iPad Mini 3, so will likely receive iOS11 around September. If it doesn't, that's your six months.

It probably won't get iOS12, which will be 2018/2019.
