Wanting to purchased a refurbished iPad Mini with ios6. Is it compatible with the Air 2?

Absolutely not. You need the new iPad mini 5 for dji fly app to work reliably.

If you want to use an ipad mini, your best bet is the 5th gen mini. I've heard SOME are having some luck with the 4th gen, but I wouldn't want to take the chance. The mini 5 is leaps and bounds better than the 4.
