iPhone 7 or IPAD Pro interrupts.

Has anyone had an instance where phone rings or text received and interrupted flight? I have not flown yet but am trying to take as many precautions as possible. Is there a certain mode such as (airplane or DND) that you should put phone in. I was hoping Go 4 app. Would magically disable phone function during flight. Thanks in advance for any response.
