Hi everyone. I'm new here, from Ghana, West Africa and I'm new to drone stuff. Started off with a toy grade cheap Chinese drone I purchased for my son whilst on holiday in the US. Surprisingly, I got hooked to the toy as my son played with so much so that I've ordered the new Mavic 2 Zoom for myself, due to arrive Thursday.

I'm considering flying my mavic 2 with the litchi app instead of the go 4 app by dji due to the reviews people have about litchi having extra features.

Has anyone got some advice for me regarding the litchi decision?

Are there other drone apps I should be aware of?

Which apps are best for no fly zone alerts ( I will be flying in Ghana)

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

You will need to use the DJI Go4 app to activate your new drone.
DJI Go4 is the best general flying and photography app and it would be a good idea to get to know it while you are learning to fly the Mavic before trying something different.
DJI Go4 does most things that most flyers would ever want to do.
But there are other apps for other features that DJI Go4 does not do.
If you want to carry out waypoint missions, Litchi is very good for that.
There are other specialised mapping apps if you wanted to use your drone for mapping/surveying.

I echo the thoughts on this. Learn the DJI first then move into waypoints. Just remember one must be forced off before the other operates as the two have been known to conflict. Both have their own merits. Both permit manual flight control. NFZs, good question. Here in US I use AirMap, but not sure how good outside the USA.

I concur with the others. I always use DJI GO 4 with the exception of waypoints. I purchased Litchi with the knowledge that I was only going to use it for its waypoint app. Find out what workd best for you, but as previously stated you will have to use DJI GO 4 to activate and set up your new drone. Good luck and enjoy!
