Eminönü is a predominantly commercial waterfront area of Istanbul within the Fatih district near the confluence of the Golden Horn with the southern entrance of the Bosphorus strait and the Sea of Marmara. It is located in the part of Istanbul known as the historical peninsula, connected to Karaköy (historic Galata) via the Galata Bridge across the Golden Horn. Eminönü is an important transport hub. Several ferries have terminals along the Eminönü waterfront. The Süleymaniye Mosque towers over the area, and the 16th century Rustem Pasha Mosque is famed for its Iznik tiles.

Your video brings back memories from decades ago. I can still clearly picture in my head, an image of the Bhosporus bridge, a view from a hundred or more feet below, almost next to the water in 1978 when we stayed at a small hotel/motel on the european side of the bridge, between, what I can tell on a current modern day google map, somewhere between Bhosporous Cafe and Turk Ventures Advisory Limited. I need to dig up old b/w photos I may have. The area has probably seen major changes in the last 47 years and the hotel or motel we stayed in, perhaps no longer exists.

It would be great if you could post some old photos of 47 years ago.
