It’s here!

That sounds more edible, even though is $150 more than the Mini 2 FMC for just the drone and RC.
If you already have a Mini-2, you can use the same controller, and get the Mini-3 drone and battery only for $635.

Much more edible.

So, why the funky metric for sensor size?

What would be wrong with 0.77 inches? A simple number, comprehensible at a glance!

MM
Probably just language convention extending beyond when it was meaningful.

Many of the steps in sensor size as they've improved has been simple fractions of an inch: "one quarter", "one third", "one half ". So written the more common way we write that, more like we say it: 1/4, 1/3, 1/2. So that became convention for specifying sensor size.

Then, getting straight from 1/2 to 1 inch in one leap was a bit too much. With the convention established, it continued, and we get things like 1/1.3.

I don't think they are going to sell the drone and battery alone, at least is not in the leak from Europe. It's going to be Drone+RC+battery, FMF and FMC with lite RC Pro. I'm confused.

Unless I did the calculations wrong, it should come out to $712 USD.

EU prices are typically quoted with tax included, and they're quoted without tax in the USA. So you have to back out the tax to get the USA-comparable price.

I think they said around 800 bucks for the single package as the cheapest option.

Because some people have better embalmed heads than Egyptian mummies.
(propably have relatives in "24fps slideshow is good" Hollywood)

It comes from old TV camera "sensor" markings:

Area wise that 1/1.3 sensor is 40% smaller than 1" sensor.
Though F1.7 lens is going to project bright image per surface area on image plane.

I know it is goofy the way they have the sizing.Either way if they get the mini 3 pro right, could be a game changer.
Sounds like around a month delay in the release date now, like maybe close to the end of May.
What a bummer I was looking forward to the Aprill 28 release day,but oh well it could change again who knows.
Have a good day.

A separate leak had pricing that did include drone (and battery) without a remote, which makes sense because the base remote is the same across a number of drones now. Who knows if that leak is accurate and if that will be available in all regions.

Makes sense.

Some traditions are worth preserving...and some aren't!

Thx,

That price very likely includes the Dutch sales tax of 21%.
I'm guessing a retail price of $699 in the US. Possibly $749.

I seriously hope so, because after doing the conversions and taxes plus probably import fees (Canada) at the prices they had listed it'd almost make more sense to just get the Air S2. I guess we'll see!

What does mm stand for you say it at the end of most messages.

Thx,

It's evolving.

Since I have all of the existing Mini models...-1,-2, and -SE...I decided I was Mr Mini.

But now that I'm considering an FPV...

I pushed the boat out to purchase my Mini 2 FMC just a year ago after flirting unsuccessfully with a Yuneec Breeze 4k.. i can't fly this one properly yet LOL!

prices are too high for me to even take a sniff at it.

The 2 is still an amazing drone which you can fly today even, unlike some other drones lol

I'm guessing the higher prices we've seen in this thread will be the case, preserving the price point of the mini 2 and it's relatively lesser value, and market.
