Lying on the southern edge of the gray and green Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, Lake Yamdrok is one of the Great Three Holy Lakes of Tibet, and one of the most stunning tourist attractions close to Lhasa. About two hours away from Yamdrok Lake is Garola Glacier. It isn't a big glacier, but the white glacier is spectacular from the highway, about 300m from the highway. But sadly the glacier has shrunk due to global warming.
