Just crashed my Mavic Pro what a plonker

Where you from pal. I know a guy in Manchester who will repair your sore mavic.
Wish I'd have seen your post earlier I've already sent my Mavic Pro to drone doctors in Brighton. Thunderdrone has a post with all UK drone specialists that's where I seen drone doctors. Thanks

" I'm sure the battery said 6 % when it dropped and when I went to retrieve it the battery was like a balloon so it obviously puffed up that much it disconnected it's self that's why it just dropped. "

Was it hot out?

And two thumbs up - these normally start out "my drone fell out of the sky for no reason!"
No it was just like a balloon puffed up. Thanks yeah I could of probably gone down the bad battery route. I didn't want all the hassle.

I will post the flight logs when I get the drone back so the flight log specialist can have a look, I do want to know what happened and how long my Mavic was flying with that puffed battery when the problems started. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your bird.

This could easily happen to me. I’ve had mavic for over a year and take a lot more risks now than when it was new.

I’ve noticed that batteries get really hot during discharge when the ambient temperature is above 80 degrees but never had a battery failure. I think mavic is happier flying below feeezing than it is in the summer.

What was the outdoor temperature during your flight?

Uk weather was about 80f so heat couldnt be it. The only thing im thinking could be it was i was flying about most the flight in Sports Mode.

Was chasing a Audi R8 in Sports mode and I ended up about a mile away from myself then low battery kicked in Crap.
Instead of just landing it in the field and walking to pick it up I tried getting it back to myself auto landing started so I was pretty close so I kept upstick to get back to myself it was only 50 feet away but still like 80 feet up when I started to descend when the thing just dropped like a stone straight onto concrete right in front of me absolutely idiot I'm sure the battery said 6 % when it dropped and when I went to retrieve it the battery was like a balloon so it obviously puffed up that much it disconnected it's self that's why it just dropped.

Lesson learned is to just land as soon as you here that low battery warning.

Anyway here's some Pictures of the damages can someone ask thunderdrone is it to message me I'm going to need a new camera I've not checked what else inside is disconnected it was a pretty hard landing just what I can see that is damaged is a few scrape on the nose and on one the motor casing.

I've got money two fix everything I just want my beast of a mavic back. [emoji26] [emoji26] View attachment 42917View attachment 42918View attachment 42919

No
Just being watching Mavic Pro teardown YouTube videos, I will be definitely fixing my next crash if it happens it looks pretty much straight forward.

Did you start with 100% battery?
Yes I was flying about everywhere in sports mode. Can I ask the @ThunderDrone where the file is stored that has all the data from that flight please. I remember seeing somewhere you can get it off the phone I was using that day.

It's tough sometimes to know that you've been warned a million times but find yourself in this situation anyway.
You're no different than anyone else, including myself, lol.
The battery swelling sounds scary and could have turned into a fiery comet effect (as Lipo's burn well when they decide to burn) hadn't it crashed before catching fire.
I think that dispite the final result, you were still lucky after all as you can still fly it and have learned something.
Good luck next time.

The damage is a lot more than first thought. 3 out of 4 arms are bent twisted. The middle frame is damaged 2 motor need replacing the blades snapped inside, I kinda knew that I tried getting all the plastic that was stuck inside out but it had obviously damaged the coil inside the motor.

Bummer man.. Do you know how many charges you had on that battery? You can plug it in the AC and DJIGO4 can tell you how many charge cycles.

Only had about 10 cycles it was basically a brand-new battery bought from Dji website.

Rob from @Thunderdrones fixed my Mavic Pro in no time and she’s been performing flawlessly since.

Wow! That definitely looks painful. Hope you get it resolved quickly. You pushed when the battery was below 10% that's why it puffed out so bad. I always set my low voltage warning at 30% then haul *** back when it chimes.
