Beautiful flight! I, with great colors. Liked the skimming of the rock formations as you entered the canyon. I, too, was impressed seeing the green trees growing of solid red rock at the top. It's a greatr place for rock climbers.

Thanks folks. The plateau above gets a lot more rain than below and has much cooler temps than the desert floor, so a lot of Junipers and pines grow up there. I love the contrast. I believe the rock is mostly Aztec sandstone and it extends all the way to Las Vegas in certain areas, the red color the result of iron.
