Just wondering if you were flying a drone near a battle ship (like 200ft distance and height) or aircraft carrier do you think they would shoot you down
I am a 30-year Air Force Veteran and as one who has seen the "working end" of an enemy's weapon, I would not; especially, in today's world's climate, stop with shooting down just your drone… You get my drift?
If you did fly a Drone around a military installation (ship, base, fort, facility, etc…) it probably would not be shot down, unless they could positively identify it as an immediate treat since anything they fire at it would have to come down and cause more damage or even death to a civilian population.
Why on Earth would you even want to play with a Drone around a military ship? Do you have some sadistic streak in your to make our service members fear for their lives.
Is your memory so short that you do not remember the USS Cole being attacked by Muslim militants in the Yemeni port of Aden?

It's thinking and acting like this are the reasons that Drones are finding fewer and fewer places to fly.
Thank you for your service! I’m just curious from videos I’ve seen on YouTube of people doing that.I am a 30-year Air Force Veteran and as one who has seen the "working end" of an enemy's weapon, I would not; especially, in today's world's climate, stop with shooting down just your drone… You get my drift?

I haven't seen anyone here suggest that they wanted to fly illegally near military vessels or facilities.
I didn’t know it was offensive to not clarify that I do not intent to do this but if someone else did. I am sorry for the confusion and do not want to cause any further issues. The OP in the original posting wanted to know it "we" thought that a (his) drone would be shot down if it (he) flew it within 200' of a naval vessel. The OP did not say that they intended to do that but the mere question suggests that it was a thought and I wanted to express my thoughts that it would not be a good idea in any shape or form.
When service members are charged with the safekeeping of lives and equipment, and they have the means to stop a threat, it's never a good idea to "tease" them. Too often, the imagination can run away and "regrettable" counter-action could be taken.
As I said in my previous posting, "in today's world's climate," why would anyone even suggest, "playing games" with our military.
Just saying…
I’m just curious from videos I’ve seen on YouTube of people doing that.
