So I live under class D and was messing around with Kittyhawk and I zoomed in to draw a box around my house to fly. Why does it say 10ft everywhere? Can I fly up to 10 ft in my yard without needing my airspace authorization?
If you're actually IN controlled airspace (as in SFC) you can't legally lift off at all without FAA Authorization. The "Grid Altitude" is the altitude that you can most likely get if you applied for LAANC approval. It's like a "suggestion" so that you don't apply for something like 200' in a 50'zone.
