I remember similar things happening decades ago with one of the Italian volcanoes but I seem to remember that, with a colossal effort they managed to divert the? most damaging flow. Then there was the incredible Kīlauea eruption.
It makes me wonder why people build on the flanks of a volcano or why they are permitted to build on the flanks of a volcano.
I was expecting to see that small swimming swimming pool get swamped.
