Hi everyone,
Today I encountered a old traditional fishing ship for the Golfe du Morbihan maintained by an association.
The association "Forban du Bono" works to preserve Breton maritime heritage, particularly traditional boats called "forbans". These vessels, once used for coastal fishing and cabotage, are an integral part of the maritime history of the Gulf of Morbihan. Among the showcased ships is a remarkable replica: the "Notre Dame de Béquerel".
This old rigging is managed by the eponymous association and faithfully represents the forbans of yesteryear. Built using traditional techniques, it allows visitors and enthusiasts to discover the naval craftsmanship of the past and to sail as Breton sailors did more than a century ago. The "Notre Dame de Béquerel" regularly participates in gatherings of old riggings and maritime festivals, thus perpetuating the memory of the forbans and raising public awareness about the importance of this unique nautical heritage.
Through its work of preservation and transmission, this association actively contributes to keeping alive the maritime traditions of the Bono region and the Gulf of Morbihan.
Enjoy the flight,
Matt
