Has anyone used a lens shade on the Mavic Pro 2. I saw one advertised on Amazon but didn’t know if that or another brand would work without causing problems with gimble movement?
i always use one on my MPP, and yes apart from keeping some of the sun off the lense it does protect the gimbal to some extent ,problem is as it does not hold the gimbal in a locked position, it does not stop it from moving around in transport so it is better to remove it and fit the gimbal clamp onI'm using the one in link. Like it a lot. Provides adequate protection for gimbal when M2 is in case, so don't have to keep taking off and putting on gimbal protector (plus no risk of powering up with gimbal protector on).

I also have the PGYTECH bought from Amazon here Amazon.com : PGYTECH Lens Hood Compatible with DJI Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom Sun Shade Glare Shield Gimbal Camera Protector for Drone Accessories : Camera & Photo
I've had it intrude on the video once when I let the MP2 return to home: the drone was rotating as it descended. I didn't have issue with intrusion in sport mode.
100% agreed. I'll see once I get to use it more if it's a problem. One with a wider opening in the front, as I have for my MPP, would likely be superior. That's a disadvantage if you pan the camera with the gimbal (as when swiping the screen). The hood will block the camera view on either side.
