I have an Mavic Air 2, so since its small and the rules say it must be in your LoS at all times so how can someone fly long distances? Flashers? Also how would that affect the weight/flight?
In short, you can't legally fly a long distance, even with strobe lights. In practice, most people do it anyway. Just be safe, keep eyes and ears scanning for aircraft in the area and have fun flying.
@Draconix the subject of flying your drone and keeping in visual line of sight ,with just unaided eye sight ,apart from prescription glasses ,has been talked about on this forum on many many occasions, please use the search feature to get the answers you need
so before this thread becomes the usual two camps on the subject ,i am going to close it from further replies
with regards to your question about adding strobes to your drone ,yes it would affect the requirements for registration, if it was an under 250g drone and depending on how many lights were fitted could have a small impact on flight time ,and possibly performance in certain weather conditions
