Hi all,

Before I start an extensive Google Search on this topic, has anyone tried to store maps locally on the SC? I went flying last weekend and I noticed that the map didn't show up inside the DJI Go app, and I am assuming it's because I wasn't connected to any WiFi-network. Once I connected my iPhone via hotspot, the maps showed up, but that's not a sustainable approach - especially when in remote areas.

It feels like DJI hasn't thought through the UI of the SC - with missing cell connection...

There is an option to "pre-download" maps. If I recall, just before you say "go fly", there's a menu (lower right???) and an option is cache maps. The selection process/sizing could be better but you can download at home if you know where you will be flying.

Well, they did.
You can preload/download your area in advance at home.

Open DJI Go 4, hit the Options on the top right corner and choose Maps or Offline Maps (cannot recall it from memory). From there, you can download maps from Mapbox for a certain area. Although not being really comfortable, it's a straight forward approach easy doable when there may be no reception on location.

They old method by manually zooming in and out to cache it, is outdated for Android.
As you wrote, @msinger shows the respective menu now, with offline maps, which still could be improved, but is way better than manually panning and zooming. ;)
