1. Check that you are using an SD card that is capable of recording HD video. The card must have the U3 logo on it - definitely not U1 ... (should be like this):

2. Are you recording using the H.265 codec? There have been many posts that show people are having issues replaying H.265 recorded video, due to hardware compatibility in their PC's. You might try installing / playing the video file with VLC media player - or changing the video recording to use the H264 codec.
If you are recording HD Video, then yes - you'll probably experience jittery video at some stage. The U1 and U3 are spec's for 'UHS Speed Class' for the card. This spec' is about the 'minimum sustained write speed' ... In other words, if you are bombarding the card with data, what is the best write speed it will do to keep up!I wasn't aware of this and have been using a SanDisk Ultra 64GB but says U1 on it. Am I doing it wrong?

U1 cards will maintain 10MBs (that's 80 MBit/s), whereas U3 cards will maintain 30 MBs (that's 240 Mbit/s).
Trade in that U1 card for a U3 ...
Interesting - I wouldn't have thought you'd have format errors - but - with a U1 card, I'd expect you to be able to format it perfectly OK, but you'd be seeing dropped video frames (stuttering) when you played your HD video.Well, that explains it, thanks very much. I've been having messages about my SD card needing formatting and I'm guessing this is the reason, cheers.

That's correct - yes - it's only when you are using the U1 type card to record HD video that it has a problem with not being able to write the data fast enough. A single snap-shot however, is OK ...So, let me get this right. It's perfectly ok to use this card for taking pictures? (which I mainly do)
