Well since this is a Mavic Pro forum I would suggest a good used Mavic Pro from the Classified section upon this site. One can be purchased at a deep discount compared to the cost when they were originally released.
Once purchased one can download and install the DJIGO4 Application for iOs or Android based devices and launch the simulator. This requires the DJI Mavic Pro to be turned on and connected to the Remote Controller to allow the simulator to operate. The simulator can be used as a training tool as the Remote Control sticks are used in the same fashion that they would be used when one was actually flying the Mavic Pro.
Since you will be working with unseasoned drone pilots / flyers I would suggest a Statefarm personal articles policy be obtained for the replacement cost of the Mavic Pro or any drone for that matter. The policy typically runs about 5 Dollars a month and I can see this going along way if replacement and / or repair of the drone was needed.
If I was in New York or surrounding areas I would be more than willing to conduct a Drone training course for the cadets. Wrong Coast- Im on the West Coast. Perhaps post in the Regional Forum area here
