Is there anyone out there who can VERIFY that the M2EA actually works with either the RC1A or RC1B - ENTERPRISE version? I know that the M2ED does.

I'm flying my M2EA with 'ATAK' - for development purposes (see https://tak.gov) but the issued RM500 is seriously lacking HP and torque. Therefore I'm looking for a sort of 'workaround' - that is to use the 'standard' Mavic2 controller plus a potent android device. I was told that the RC1A would work - and it sort of does: it binds to the M2EA and flies it perfectly... but without any video streams coming through to the Android device. This is probably because the firmware in it is for a standard Mavic2 which of course has another camera configuration.

I was also told that the RC1A/B would 'automagically' download and install the correct firmware version if bound to a drone of the 'wrong' type if attached to a connected Android device. This seems NOT to be true (anymore at least). I've tried everything I can think of to get this to happen - to no avail: Booting the remote with a logged in device attached, booting it without a device attached, booting it bound to the aircraft, ...not bound to the aircraft, etc, etc... I can't get it to download any firmware. I'm using the Pilot app on the Android device.

Now I'm wondering:
Can someone actually CONFIRM that this remote (RC1A or RC1B) actually will work with the M2EA - including providing video streams, and can someone tell me how I can force it to download of the correct firmware? Or is a raw hex file and some JTAG hacking the way to go?

DJI won't answer any questions regarding this except that I can buy an RC1A Enterprise from them - but for a fantasy amount of money. I can't afford that since I'm now severely ill and this 'development project' is likely my last and more of a time killer for me.

Yet another question is if someone has an old, leftover RC1A / RC1B ENTERPRISE remote to sell for a reasonable amount of money?

Information?
If you want, I have several RC1A’s. I could send you one to try.

Hello and thank You very much for your suggestion!

There's a complicating 'issue':

I'm not located in the US but in Sweden which makes your suggestion both more cumbersome and costly. However, I'm willing to buy your RC if you are willing to ship internationally and if we can establish, with a reasonably high degree of certainty, that it will work in my use case:

There are two versions of this RC: The RC1A and RC1B. They are, according to DJI and my own research, virtually identical except for some very minor PCB modifications and the fact that one is keeping a 'log.txt' file internally while the other does not. Right now I can't remember which one does this but logic reasoning makes me want to believe that it's the 'B' version which keeps a logfile but I could be wrong.

I'm reasonably convinced that my whole issue lies within the RC firmware, which in my (2nd hand) RC1A is the 'consumer' version (Mavic 2 Pro / Zoom fw ver. 01.00.770) while it needs to be 'Enterprise' ver. 01.01.xxx (originally supplied with the Mavic 2 Enterprise / Enterprise Dual drones).

According to the TAK core development team (ref. https://tak.gov) this is a known issue but should 'self resolve' by following the below supplied procedure:

Needless to say, this isn't working as stated.

I'm going to try to downgrade the firmware (yet again) using DJI Assistant 2 and then try to get it to make the 'switch-a-roo' as per above.

What seems really strange to me is that when I downgraded this RC to the earliest accessible version, I lost the dual camera and accessory indicators in the 'Pilot' app - which is sort of expected since there were neither accessories nor dual camera Mavics at the time of fw ver. 01.00.330

However, when it had 'done its thing (updated fw), the fw version was still reported as belonging to a Mavic 2 Pro / Zoom (consumer) drone, not the expected Enterprise, but the drone is correctly detected as an Enterprise by the Pilot app and the screen again has controls for dual cameras, strobe, spotlight, speaker etc. The gimbal can be manually manipulated too, photo and video works as expected - both RGB and IR. Even the strobe can be switched on and off - but there is no video on-screen and trying to switch camera causes the Pilot app to mis-behave.

I did not expect the dual camera controls to appear and certainly not the strobe to function with 'consumer' RC firmware. But this is probably just a 'red herring' confusing me. The bottom line is that DJI Assistant 2 identifies it as a 'consumer' RC and I need it to be promoted to an 'Enterprise' RC.

For some reason the RC is stuck on the consumer firmware and I guess this is a feature intentionally introduced by DJI at some point in time, un-known to the TAK core development team.

Now I want to try a RC1A (or B) which was originally supplied with either the Mavic 2 Enterprise or Enterprise Dual. There should be a few of these laying around since many Enterprise / Dual owners were quick to upgrade to the 'Smartcontroller' (RM500). If you have one (or a bunch) of these and can verify (using DJI Assistant 2 for example) that the firmware is correct, I'm willing to purchase it - but embarrassingly enough, I have to postpone this a few weeks since I'm in a VERY tight squeeze moneywise at the moment.

Again; thank you very much for offering to help me! : )
Best regards.
