I don't know the first thing about calibrating a monitor by sight alone, so I'm looking for a quality apparatus to aid in the procedure. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
You cant do it accurately by sight alone. You need a hardware device and ideally one that adjusts screen brightness to cater for the ambient light level.
There are lots around, i use a Spyder as hardware device and freeware software but plenty of choices.
