M2ED Battery Blinking 5 times constantly

One of our M2ED batteries came off the charger (fully charged) and then when I went to use it, it started blinking 5 times continuously. Top right LED (of the 4) blinks 5 times, waits, and the repeats. It;s been doing this for 12 hours. I called DJI and the tech said he's look into it and call be. He did (I couldn't take the call) he said the battery is defective and out of warranty - I knew all that.

Question is, how do I get it to shut down? I'm certainly not going to use the battery, but I'd like to get it to shut down before recycling it.

Look into it? lol- If you are not planning to use them to rebuild new ones ( Dont unless you know) I would simply place your BAD Batteries in a tub of water overnight and dispose of them. OR let them drain on their own and save the Batteries somewhere safe to sell or reuse for rebuilds.

Didn't know there was a market for defective Mavic batteries.
