Semi-urban means there's probably a good number of wifi routers located indoors along the flight path and 2.4GHz penetrates structures more effectively than 5.8GHz, which means stronger 2.4GHz interference. Lower frequencies = greater solid object penetration, lower bandwidth. Higher freqencies = less sollid object penetration, higher bandwidth.
As long as you have unobstructed LOS to the drone 5.8GHz is going to see less interference from indoor wifi and offer greater bandwidth for live-view, win-win.
