Hi everyone, I've been flying my Mavic 2 pro for almost a year with no issues so far, I'm just thinking ahead and wondering if a maintenance service would be necessary, you know deep clean, motors revision, batteries health, etc.And if someone knows a good place to send it in the Tri-state area, preferably Philadelphia. Please advice on this topic needed. Thanks in advance!

to be honest those are things you should be doing on a regular basis during the life of your drone, not just after a years flying ,regular airframe structural checks are part of safe flying ,you as the PIC should make sure your drone is airworthy before each flight

Really nothing to do on an annual basis. As already mentioned by @old man mavic , regular maintenance before and after each usage is all that is necessary. Specifically to the points you mentioned:
  • Deep Clean: Not needed unless you regularly fly in sandy/dusty areas. In extreme cases of that nature you could open up the shell and inspect/clean the interior.
  • Motors: No cleaning necessary again based on no dust/dirt in there. Otherwise a quick burst of compressed air can do the job.
  • Firmware: Should be updated regularly.
  • Battery Health: Ongoing by properly charging, discharging, and storing them every time. If your batteries were not maintained properly and they are in poor health then there is little or nothing that will bring them back.
It really comes down to taking good care and running through all the basics each time you fly and whnever it is stored for long periods of inactivity.

This is a really good site for detailing maintenance cycles for both UAV and Batteries. Also great for keeping a log of your flights.

You might be right. It's a little unclear since they provide support for the Mavic 2. Might be worthwhile to reach out to them and confirm.

If they do not this is another option. I'm sure there are several inspection and maintenance services providers. I actually think using these services could be beneficial for commercial pilots providing a marketable message to clients on your commitment to safe operations. I myself have not used anyone to provide this type service but for some it might be a good idea.
