I’ve been doing a lot of research on both of these amazing drones I love bringing my drones on my vacations and getting cool cinematic photos and videos but I can’t seem to decide which one I want I know they are pretty different but I love the picture quality from the phantom 4 pro and love the zoom from the mavic 2 zoom can anyone help me decide?

If you're a devoted person ready to plan your day around P4P and experience pleasure from the intimidating process, go with the Phantom. If you want to keep it simple and don't want to make it a big deal of bringing your drone with you for a day, Mavic is your bet. In addition, I really love the latest tech DJI has to offer in the new series of Mavic's. In the end, if you're not neat picky and just want to enjoy the thrill of flight not disturbing anyone like me, Mavic with its awesome Zoom is the way to go on a vacation.

I just wish the remote for P4P would work for the mavic I thinks you can film a lot smoother. The sticks on the sc seem sticky. Now with that said I think I will go fly the P4P today.

You haven't said what sort of vacations you mean but, in my opinion if it involves luggage considerations or using any means of transport that isn't yours (planes, trains etc.) then a Mavic is probably your best bet due to its small footprint in transit, and portability once you get to your destination.

On the other hand if your vacations are typically under your own power, (road trip, RV, big dang 4WD etc.) so luggage logistics are more flexible, and if you're typically out in the wilds, then in those cases a P4P becomes a more manageable proposition.

I think it kinda depends how you're getting to your destination, and how you envisage moving around your destination too I suppose.

I'm biased as I have the Mavic 2 Pro but I think it's a fantastic little drone, it has the larger 1in sensor similar to the P4P (performance isn't quite as good as the P4P I believe) but it's much more compact to easily carry around. The Mavic 2 also has the option that you can change the camera module between the zoom and the pro, it's not a user supported features nor something I've looked into myself but I've seen it discussed on the forum.

With regards to choosing between the zoom or the larger sensor, do you post process raw files or use the jpegs untouched? If you're only working with jpegs straight out of the camera, the larger 1in sensor doesn't have as much of an advantage.
