Welcome to the forum and I'm glad your indoor test worked out for you. If you plan on more indoor flying you should get a set of prop guards. They greatly reduce the pucker-factor.

Are those snap sounds the props skimming the wall?
I assume you had optical avoidance off, or else it wouldn't let you get closer than 3ft from the front and back wall or ceiling.
In tripod mode, 3ft from side walls.

Maybe if I had something like that I could pretend I was getting some use out of my drones right now, but unfortunately it's much too cold.
