Well still no luck with my friends controller... emailed dji and the said "looks like you did all the troubleshooting already, please send us the drone and aircraft to us to analyze"
The drone is out of warranty I'm sure (he got it when the mavic 2 zoom first came out)
Hes just gonna buy a smart controller and be done.... he doesnt want to send it to CHI-NA!
Looking like I'll have to buy a smart controller as well, the charging port on my phone is really sloppy now and the cable sometimes gets disconnected from my phone.....
