My Mavic 3 Cine finally arrived. Wohoo!

The next morning I took it out for its maiden flight and I'm saddened to say all didn't go well.
Initially, the flight started out great, but once I reached about 2.5K feet in distance the sc pro screen started flickering on and off followed by flickering blue bars, mixed with a flickering white screen. Eventually the screen completely froze up and I had to rely on the mapview to get the drone home.

This pop-up message appeared several times:

"Camera storage speed low. Back
up file and format storage space"

Keep in mind this is the cine and only recording 4K/60 at the time. Not ProRes.

I landed the drone, formatted the SSD and tried again.
No luck, same results. I even tried at slower frame rate 4k/30 to no avail.

Has anyone else seen this?

Talked with customer support about the issues and now I have to return it. Bummer!
I realize stuff happens and I'm ok with sending it back. I just hope the shipping nightmare is resolved.

I have the same problem with that pop-up message about the camera speed.... Any fix?

When you reformatted the SSD, did the screen say which File System is being used?

Doesn’t make sense…The Read/Write speed on the SSD is blazing:

  • Capacity: 1 TB
    Max Read Speed: 700MB/s*
    Max Write Speed: 471MB/s*

Has to be something in the Bus/Firmware relationship…

Yes, something is faulty there plus consistent screen freeze up too. Totally unreliable to fly. Best to return or at least have a talk with support.

Is this issue just with the cine (and SSD that it has) or will it impact the non cine with an SD Card.

Could you have tried an SD card to see if it gives the error?

Could it be a firmware issue?

What do you expect from a five bucks drone ;) :) at least they promised to add basic SW in January - might be ;)

Ya know…I haven’t flown my M3 yet because I’ve been really busy…but I might just wait until DJI puts out a Firmware update to fix all these ‘features’…

Hi

I've got the Cine edition
Didn't even try to record Prores for now.

Had the exact same problem for all the 3 flight I've made so far.
Today I've got the SSD low speed warning when recording 4K/25fps normal on the internal SSD
SmartController froze, glitches, and so...internal video show red bars on freeze and white screen also

Here's a sample video of what's happening

I've not try recording on SD, but I'll do
I've reformatted the SSD to see it exFat file system

It's so frustrating :(
Any advice or solution ?

I've also written to the support to mention these concerns.
It maybe hardware or firmware.
I don't want to send back the unit if it's possible to correct the problem otherwise

Regards

Try recording to the SD directly. I did not try this since I did not have a SD at the time.
Also, I had screen record on for each mission, try not using screen record.
I'm interested in knowing if you find a solution.
My response from support was that the drone was defective and to send it back.
I'm now waiting for the replacement.

Good luck.

Have you tried updating to 1.5.1 and the last DJI RC1 firmware update?

I have the regular M3 and DJI RC1 working fine. I know the OP mention is the CINE version but just in case.

Thanks for your response

I'll try recording on a SD very soon to see if that happens.
But it won't solve the problem anyway.

How do you disable "screen record"
I'm using version 1.5.1 off DJI Fly on the smartcontroller

I'm also waiting from a response of DJI support to know if it is hardware related or firmware will fix this
It will be complicated for me to send back the unit.

Screen record is something you manually turn on, it's not automatic.

I believe I was up to date on firmware for the drone and the smart controller.
I used Assistant 2 for installation.

If you can find a solution on your own then that may be your best option for the Cine.

I just now received feedback from DJI concerning my replacement, and was told the M3 Cine is now out of stock and will take 21 days to send out a new one. Ugh!!!!!

I've made another try
Recording on SD card gave me the same bugs (gliches, red bars, freezes and so on) as recording on the internal SSD
The M3 went unable to record after bugging. Video return stays frozen. Had to power cycle the M3 to regain video feedback.

Definitively will return the defectiv unit to DJI for a replacement
As for now it's not usable at all
So bad, so sad

Thanks

Yeah, sounds like you're in the same boat as I.

I will say, DJI gave me some options:

1. Convert this to a repair: SC will be as new, with a brand new M3.
2. Wait 21 days for a brand new package

3. Refund

I went with option 1. Keeping my fingers crossed this works out and the wait isn't terribly long.

Good luck!

Yep
Not lucky this time. I've never had problem before with all DJI stuffs I've bought so far.
I can wait for the delay. I still run the M2Pro as my first drone for commercial stuff

Good luck with your new unit

Nope, I sent the drone back to DJI for replacement.
Yup. Same here, but only when I shoot Prores, but I have not experience your other issues. Hoping it's firmware. So sorry that you had to send it back. Do keep us posted.
