Hey all. New to be Mavic 3 Pro owner and new to piloting drones.

For those who use the DJI RC, can you mirror the screen / cast it somewhere for others to watch as well? Was hoping to do some flights near my folks house and to throw the live feed on their tv or a laptop.

I did some digging and found that the 'fly more combo' shows the M3 Pro combined with the RC pro controller and 3 batteries - but the cost goes up significantly and I was hoping not to have to spend all that extra.

Greetings from Birmingham Alabama USA, welcome to the forum! We look forward to hearing from you!

Welcome from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, USA. We have a Member's Map in the Upper Right of the Title Bar. Click on "Members" and then Click on "Member's Map…" Check it out and you might find some new flying friends.

I cannot help you with the sending the imagery from your controller to your TV, but that has come up recently in the forum, try searching on various criteria. If you do not find what you are looking for, go to YouTube, if it can be done, it has been done there…

Another point, I believe you typed up your message in a word processor and then pasted it into the Forum's edit box. I think that is why there are three spaces between each paragraph. I use MicroSoft Word to type up all my responses in all my writing, be it email, texts, or even this response to you…

Word is so much easier to format your writing, spell check, and even save your topics for future reference… However, if you copy and paste it directly into the Forum's edit box, you get those extra spaces. To avoid that, I copy and paste the response into Notepad and then then copy that text and then paste it into the edit box… If this is so, try it… If not, please ignore my "insane rantings…"

Since you live in Canada, there are specific laws and rules for you to follow, please check to ensure these are current.

Even if you have flown Drones before, here is some Good Old Fashion Advice…

You paid a lot of money for that Drone, put your phone number on it. If your drone gets lost or stuck in a tree and it finally comes down when you are not around, give the finders an opportunity to contact you so it can be returned.

Now, for the Fun Part, But do not let the excitement of the moment get the best of you. When you are going out to fly, do it slowly and deliberately. Get used to a set procedure and even practice it.

There are so many things I could write but these are the highlights that I feel need mentioning.

Plug in your phone/tablet into your controller; turn on the Controller and DJI Fly App (if it does not start on its own…). On the Drone, open the front legs, then open the back legs, and then remove the Gimbal Cover.

The Gimbal is the most delicate item on the Drone and banging or bumping can damage it. I also fastened a short "Remove Before Flight" ribbon to the cover so it's more noticeable and I do not forget to remove it…

Turn on the drone and watch it come to "life." Watching the Gimbal go through its self-check is almost like watching a puppy or kitten opening its eyes for the first time…

Place the drone down (preferably on a Landing Pad) while it finishes its self-test (collecting satellites, etc…).

Check your battery status (Phone, Drone, and Controller), check the Signal Strength, by now the Controller should have reported it updated the Home Point.

Lift off, 6 feet (2-meters) or so, hover a bit, check the controls (move the drone a bit forward, back, left, right, yaw left and right). By now, your Controller will probably report again, "Home point Updated."

If you go out in a rush and race thru your start up and take off before the drone has finished it prep, it may update its Home Point over that pond or that old tree you are flying over and in your excitement, you'll fly the drone long past it Low Battery point and when it engages Return to Home and lands in the pond or in a tree; it will be all on you…

Now go have fun, learn to fly the drone by sight before you try to fly it out a distance depending on the video feed, FPV.

I would also advise you to use YouTube and watch a lot of the Videos on flying and setting up the Drone. When it is too dark, too cold, or too wet, you can "fly it vicariously" through YouTube. Also watch some of the Blooper Drone Videos and learn how not to fly your "New Baby."

Below is the link to all of the downloads offered by DJI for the Mini 3 Pro, including the User Manual.

After you read the Manual, read it again, you will be surprised what you missed the first time and you will be better prepared for that first "scary moment…"

Update:

The Mavic 3 series can use the DJI RC N1, DJI RC, and DJI RC Pro.

I found a new DJI RC N1 online with a user who got a replacement and didn't have use for the extra controller. These can be had for relatively cheap, can use an android device which ultimately can cast to another device such as Chromecast. Can use an LCD TV in the back of my pickup truck (utility plugin) and chromecast. (My android phone can act as a wifi hotspot between the devices.

This is a much cheaper alternative than spending $1400 on the DJI RC Pro. The only downside is that I optimally need a dedicated tablet for my screen as I don't like using my phone. Most tablets have a dull screen, nits wise. The more costly Samsung tab S8, the ipad mini or the really costly tripletek tablets are brighter (tripletek boasting 1300 nits, compared to the RC Pro 100 nits, or RC 700 nits. Most tablets I've noticed are around 400-500 nits of brightness and I tend to fly on sunny days (as do most).

Still decisions to be made but at least I've solved the issue of casting the Mavic 3 series without needing to spend a lot of money on the RC Pro.

Also passed my the advanced RPAS field review (Canadian requirement to do advanced flight operations). Good times.
