Surprisingly bold move from DJI today as reported here on DroneDJ... in which they have decided simply not to make the Mavic 4 available to the US ! :/ Apparently this not linked to the impending attempts to implement a ban on DJI but more in response to halted / delayed border shipments and Trump's ever-changing tariff decisions. My sympathies to those of you this affects.

Is DJI doing a live event for the Mavic 4 Pro? I was unable to find anything, as I did want to watch and see if they have anything to say about when it will be available here.

Didn't they stop doing live events some time ago? They are so well-known these days that they just need to tell us where to insert our money.

It affects me as I do photography for a living but I also can’t stand this place and feel it is well deserved.

In the past 4 years I have traveled to and lived in another country for 1-2 months seeking out where to re-locate to as I create new work.

I applaud DJI for this move.

It's a genius business move on their end. They know most Americans won't buy a consumer DJI drone until the US tariff is significantly reduced tomorrow.

Just as I predicted, not available on launch day in the US. To me, that means the Mavic 4 Pro is yet another spoiled DJI launch, not a disaster but not very good either. There could be many reasons from tariffs to customs but either way, this could have been *planned* to soften to blow rather than just a big unknown which is worse. DJI should issue a press release so there are not a lot of questions or people don't "go to Canada" or get creative (if they don't have to).

If you don't know the price, why not post the product and then immediately set it to backorder for 30 days with price TBD and attempt a mini re-launch? You can't spend forever on the price so it should only take a few days, why miss the launch for that? If the US launch is super important, why not delay the worldwide launch for a few days until *everybody* is ready. They've done this before where they announce on one day and then point out the actual availability date sometime in the near future. Have they said when US supplies will be available?

If you don't know if you can get your product into the country but you think it's soon then same answer. However, if you are totally unsure or you don't agree with or not setup for the complex logistical process to get it done smoothly (which is where I think we are) then yes, I would skip it which is why I think the Mavic 4 Pro launch is less than ideal again for a flagship drone. But I get it, summer is days away, spring is gone....time is money.

And now, I'm going to read the story over at dronedj.

I suspect that if DJI have decided not to sell it to America it'll be in the firmware that they can't take off in US territory, thereby rendering attempts to get them in from elsewhere somewhat futile, or at least a serious PITA to circumvent.

DJI won’t honor the warranty either if someone buys a “grey market” drone.

There is also a new customs rule that requires that you formally document anything you bring into the country over 800 bucks, So even if you buy say in Canada you gonna pay the price anyway at the U.S. border..
DJI has said they will not "launch" the Mavic 4 in the U.S. and with the confusing way things are now, I don't blame them a bit! The Mavic 4 will get to America BUT not during the "launch" faze. When it does eventually hit the market here you may thank the delay that allowed you to save all that money your going to need to purchase one.

When I add the creator to cart at BH, I see the tax as $434.68 which brings the total closer to $5100 but I would use a Payboo card so BH can pay the tax. I'll pass for now,

DJI aren't going to do anything like that.
If you bought outside the US and brought the drone in, you could fly it just as you could anywhere else.
It's just going to cost you to bring it across the border.
And you couldn't get warranty service in the US if it was bought elsewhere.

I am not sure they are waiting for tomorrow. According to this article they have not sent review samples to US entities

Review samples have $0 formal commercial value so they would not be impacted by tariffs (I think). I think I am tired of winning.

It seems like the formal reviewers such as the top tech sites and magazines and blogs may not have received their samples but our favorite stateside Youtubers have them and their launch day videos have posted.
