Greetings,

I recently acquired a new Mavic 4 Pro via Ebay/Korea, and it has been great. Got the creator combo, so all the bells and whistles.

Today I received a second shipment from another Korean merchant, with a second charging hub, and 3 more batteries. I now have a total of 6 batteries, and 2 charging hubs.

1 of the batteries I received won't seem to take a charge. I tried in both the new hub, as well as my first one I already had. The other 5 batteries had no problem charging. So I have validated that both docks are good, and all 3 ports in each dock is also good. Just this one battery doesn't charge. I tried putting it into the drone, and the drone will power on, but the controller shows an error about 'warm or charge the battery'. The battery has been indoors at room temperature for several hours, and it is not warm to the touch. Also, I tried plugging in the drone itself, to see if it would charge while in the drone, but no bueno.

Any suggestions before I try to get this one replaced by the merchant?

DJI has a solid battery replacement and warranty process so you maybe can check with them if the Koreans can't help you.

It may be in "hibernation mode"
  • Connect the battery to the charger.
  • Wait for 5 minutes.
  • Disconnect the battery.
  • Press the power button for 3 seconds, then release it and press again for 20 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery to the charger, and it should start charging
P.S. I was imagining Eastwood narrating your post to me lol.. Supercool!

Which DJI batteries is that known to work on? P4P batteries? Is there a separate process for P4P batteries? I now have 10 of them that won't charge, where they initially showed 2 green bars and a flashing 3rd bar whenever the button was pressed, so I didn't charge them. However, despite relying on the button display, they were apparently so low they are now either hibernating or completely unrecoverable. The above recovery process didn’t work. In the hub, it goes through a cycle of 2 lights, 1 light, a flashing single light, and then flashes a single light for 15 seconds and then goes completely dark. All 10 are doing the same thing. Any suggestions, other than use them as paperweights? LOL!

Just curious, what eBay Korean seller did you purchase from? Any issues with payment, shipping, customs, etc.? Thanks.

The M4P creator combo came from 'dw_store13'. The extra batteries were from '102_store', and the spare charging hub was from 'with_us'. No issues with payment, shipping, or customs. dw_store13 even included a US power plug adapter, since the charging brick included a non-us plug. I'll probably just replace the cord portion with one I already have, but it was a nice touch for them to include it.

the p4p THOSE ARE VERY VERY PICKY pay close attention when it says wait and do nothing it means nothing....dont even give it a thought for those 5 min lol this works for me:
1. Initiate the wake-up process:
Press the power button on the battery for 2 seconds. Don't worry about the lights; just let it sit.

2. Wait patiently:
After switching on, leave the battery undisturbed for at least 5 minutes. Do not press the power button again.

3. Connect to the charger:
Without further button presses, plug the battery into the official DJI charger.

4. Allow sufficient time:
The battery may take a considerable amount of time (potentially hours) to fully wake up and start charging. Leave it connected and undisturbed during this process.

5. Check battery status in the DJI GO 4 app:
Once the battery has been plugged into the charger for a while, you can check its status in the app. If the battery is still not charging, you can try updating the battery firmware through the app.

Important considerations:
  • Use the official DJI charger:
Third-party chargers may not be compatible with the hibernation/wake-up process.

  • Be patient:
The wake-up process can take a while, so avoid interrupting it unnecessarily

I tried this process twice, but no bueno. When I press it the first time for 3 second, I get 1 bar of green LED for about 2 seconds, then it goes out. When I press it the second time for 20 seconds, I get nothing. When I plug it into the charging hub, and plug the charging hub into my charger (an Anker Prime 250w), I see 0watts being pulled by it. No lights on the battery indicating charging. Any other suggestions? I'm certainly keen to solve it in house if possible, so I don't have to involve any return/warranty process.

Worth mentioning that the battery does deliver power to the drone if I install it. Doesn't that indicate that it is not hibernating?

RE: Eastwood: Yeah, not only one of my favorite filmmakers, but the avatar also hints at some of my other hobbies. :)

It could have drained below its ability to recover and theres no really safe way to bump DJI Batteries. sorry.
