Brief history of my drone use, I have owned the P4, Mavic 1, Mavic 2 Pro and now the Mavic 4 Pro. I am mainly a still photographer, and I utilize the exposure bracketing feature on all my drones. I have the Mavic 4 Pro with the RC Pro2

I have attempted this with the Mavic 4 Pro, and have run into an issue where the aperture is being changed on 3 or 5 shot bracketing. I am using the pro mode, and have all the auto selections not in yellow. I can pick the pick the aperture either by using the control wheel, or the original way by entering into the details for M mode. No matter what I select, the Mavic 4 Pro will not shoot 5 per 3 brackets with a consistent aperture. I changes the shutter speed, (which it should ) but is also changing the aperture. Example, one image is taken at F 4.0, then 2.2 then 2.0. This is unique to any other DJI drone I have used.

I am hoping I still have a setting off, but have gone through the menu and can't find anything else to change. The fixed aperture is important mainly for DOF. This issue is only a problem of course on the main lens as the other two are fixed F 2.8.

Can anyone check with their Mavic 4 Pro and see if they get this same issue ( exposure bracketing in M mode)

Also I need to open a support ticket with DJI, but since I don't believe they have support for the Mavic 4 Pro in the U.S. (please correct me if I am incorrect), the only place I can think of is the DJI forum.

I am running the most current firmware on both drone and controller and have most current version of the fly app. The version I have of the fly app seems to be correct as it shows all three lenses and has the switch setting to turn the gimbal to vertical.

If I manually exposure 5 brackets (made much easier by the new control wheel) the aperture stays fixed, but in the furture I would rather not have to do that.

Thanks
Paul C

Fixed it, due to my misunderstanding. It works as it should once you have the setting correct.

I’m having the same issue. I find it a bit strange that you have to set the shutter speed to auto just to keep the aperture consistent. I never had to do that with the other drones I’ve flown - in AEB mode, the only setting that changed was the shutter speed.

It makes perfect sense, if you want the aperture to stay constant, you need to lock down the aperture setting and allow the shutter speed to change.

Did your other drones have a controllable aperture?
If they did, they didn't work any differently.

I checked my old photos, and the aperture was never changed, only the shutter speed. Nothing was set to auto. The aperture stayed consistent where I wanted it while the shutter speed adjusted.

Actually they do work differently. I worked with the Mavic 2 pro for years always using AEB. The way the you set it up is totally different and much more user friendly. This is of course DJIgo4 instead of the fly app. And one of the number one issues on the DJI forums about the 4 pro is setting up AEB so the aperture stays fixed.

Actually it's exactly the same whether you use DJI Go or DJI Fly
Just the interface looks a little different.

In each you set the exposure method you choose and tap the AEB icon and decide how many shots.
You can make the dumb choice and leave everything to the camera by selecting Auto.
Or you can take control and choose which parameters you want to lock down and which you will allow the camera to choose.

If you want the aperture and ISO to stay constant, you have to set them yourself and lock them down.
In each example above the aperture is locked at f 5.6, ISO at 100 and the shutter speed is whatever the camera judges to be appropriate for the scene and lighting.

There's no other way it could work and the people complaining of difficulty, just don't understand basic exposure setting.
