So I just received my Mavic Air 2. Does anyone see any usefulness of getting a Mini also. The only thing I can think of is the Mini is more portable for travel.

Any thoughts would be well accepted.

Thanks,

Even the Air 2 is pretty portable, not a big advantage. Im considering my 2nd drone, mini, pro, air 2.
the price point is leading me to get a 2nd Air 2.

Zero benefit of getting a MM as well, unless you want it for display

My choice would have been between the Mini and the MA2. I don't think I'd get both. The Mini is more "portable". The MA2 is more "professional". Tough choice. I might have chosen the Mini in anticipation of later getting a M3P (or whatever) as a complement, not a replacement. If I'd chosen the MA2? I think I'd stay with it. Both? Nah!

I bought a Mini about 2 weeks ago. I have had a ton of fun flying it the last 2 weeks. Work said we are getting 2019 performance bonuses.(this was unexpected given the Covid situation) So end of last week I bough the MA2 and received it this morning. I flew it for roughly an hour this afternoon. If I'm to be 100% honest, I see the Mini hardly getting used now.
The Mini is a great drone as most would agree but the MA2 benefits far outweigh it.
To name a few... OcuSync 2.0 its simply better than the enhanced wifi. Weight, The MA2 handles wind much better.
This one is very subjective but... the controller. I LOVE that I don't have to remove my phone case like I do on the Mini and also love that the MA2 controller will charge my phone while in use. Also, I am simply more confident flying the MA2.

Sadly I see the 2 week old Mini taking a backseat to the MA2.
To add my 2 cents to your questions I would pass on the Mini and wait to see what the Mavic 3 has to offer.

So, maybe not a popular answer but I will hand off my air 2 controller to my wife to watch while its doing a hyper lapse or something by itself. And fly my mini to get some secondary pictures with the camera on it. Works well to be honest if im taking a mini i might as well take the air two so I end up tasking both a lot of times... run down the batteries on the air and then fly the mini..

this is a scenario exist because I bought a mini first lol.

Thanks everybody for your input! I really appreciate it.

I think I'll fly the hell out of the MA2 and buy a 3 when it comes out. If you think about it, it's not much more than upgrading cell phones every year or two.

Cheers.
