Mavic Air 2 cable

Ordered a mount for Mavic Air 2 to connect my 9.7 iPad pro. Do I need a special cable? Apparently the original Mavic Air used a standard ( albeit longer than provided ) lightning to usb.

Just saw a video showing there is a major difference in remote's connection distance if the cable is connected on the LEFT, rather than the RIGHT side of the phone or, I assume, an iPad. Has something to do with the position of the antennas inside.
