Hy all,

I read there was an update to the batteries of the Mavic Air, so decided to start the drone and do the update.

I turn on the drone, fine.
Turn on the controller, fine, connects to drone
Plug in my phone with the cable that has been in there all the time. My phone goes wild beeping constantly of connecting/disconnecting the device (with the cable plugged in).

Tried taking it out and back in several times. Tried connecting with the usb C and the C to micro adapter to the laptop, also beeps from connecting/disconnecting all the time.
If I wiggle the cable a bit it connects or disconnects.

I therefore assume my controller USB port is broken, but I don't understand how. The otg cable has been in there since the last time I used it..
Controller has just been in the bag since then

Any ideas on what to try/do?

Very strange. Has it gotten wet? Thats the only way I could explain both ports malfuntioning.
No, nothing happened to it. I used it about a week ago where it was working great. I put it in the bag and it has just been sitting there in my house for the entire time. I took it out now, and all of a sudden it doesn't work anymore.

Drone powers on, controller powers on and connects to drone (LED turns green), plug it in the phone and it starts charging the phone, but doesn't connect. App shows disconnected.

Tried both the small port on the side with the short cable provided (USB C) and also the longer USB B to C cable through the port on the bottom of the controller. Both charge my phone but do not connect.

I'm taking the controller back to the store. Bought it just under a month ago..

Didn't get it to work but there is definitely something wrong with my phone.
My laptop also doesn't recognize the phone.

Will have to see if my phones connector is damaged or dirty. Can check in a few days with a good microscope, difficult to see now.

My data connection of my usb C port in my phone was broken. Send the phone in for repair and got it back. All works now
It's actually a 'micro-USB A' port on the side of the controller, and you may have plugged a micro-USB B plug into it, the wrong way round. There are several posts on the forum about this 'design issue' on the controller and what can be done about it - but just be aware that the micro-USB A socket has a fragile 'tongue' with the contacts on, that's off-set to one side. The micro-USB B plug has a slot for this tongue, that is also offset! If you get them the right way round, the tongue fits in the slot and all is OK - But - if you get them reversed, then the plug will push the tongue sideways and snap it off at the base!
There are several ways to avoid this, with the most popular being; marking the controller and the charging plug so you know that you are putting them together right, using reversible micro-USB B plugged cables, and using magnetic 'NetDot' type micro-USB connectors.

Hi, thnx for the response but this is not the case.
I used the short C variant cable that was delivered with the controller and is has been in the controller since the beginning. I only unplug the C side from my phone and leave the other side in the controller. When I plugged in a different phone everything worked.

I also connected my phone to my laptop and it was not recognized. Tried different cables and also another computer but my phone wasn't recognized on any computer.

Got my phone back from repair this week and it works again.
