Hey guys, so I bought by Mavic Air two days ago and I crashed it into a tree and broke the left rear Arm and even the motor stopped working. So I saw a replacement part on AliExpress. Because I live in India and DJI doesn't have service out here. Is it a safe bet to get a Chinese Part and fix it? Will there be any incompatibility?

thanks man! Do you know where I can find a How To for the replacement?

Best I can find is a tear-down, currently there is no tutorial on DIY replacement. @Thunderdrones might have some helpful hints, though I don't imagine it's an extremely complex task if you can solder.

Yet another quick question, will using a third party motor arm affect the drone in any way? it's the rear left arm.

You should never use a third-party part, not without people verifying its quality. In this case, you'll likely never get that. The one I linked should be a DJI part. If it's not a DJI part, don't use it.

Yeah, the answer is right here on the forum. @Thunderdrones

I agree. I use parts taken from new Mavics which is the only real way to know, unless you buy it directly from DJI, but they dont sell them to the public. I would check the part with a visual inspection for the DJI logos, and then with an extended test flight.

This is the one that I've ordered.

I too took a crash and broke the inner socket of the back left control arm for the mavic air. Not sure what to do. If a simple repair I'd be willing to do myself.

Hi, I just repaired mine, there are good tutorials on you tube. took about an hour. I am fairly handy with tools, but have little experience with electronics, so not sure that I would call this "simple" There are certainly many ways to screw it up or break things, but it worked out for me. This tutorial was really good:

Watching this video will give you a good idea as to whether it is something you want to tackle.

As far as the first step, removing the screws next to the gamble: I could not find any screws. I just pried the top off, and it worked out fine. it snaps back on, and even with it off, I can not see any screws in that area. I suspect they may have changed the design and eliminated those screws.

good luck

Yes, I think the first production runs did not have the screws for the top plate... something caused DJI to change that.

Perhaps too many people were taking it off on their own and DJI could not tell without the screw and little glueball in the screw top..
