Mavic Air Newbie question

Hello there folks,

I flew my Mavic Air for the very first time this morning on a damp, cloudy day in Southern Wisconsin. Anyways, I connected to my drone vie wifi using my Samsung Tab S3 tablet. I can control everything using the tablet. However, I wanted to control the drone using the remote control. How do I control the drone with the remote? When I tried to connect with the remote, the tablet tells me that there's a wifi connection already with the drone. How do I switch from controlling the drone with the tablet to the remote and just using the tablet as a viewer for the drone's camera?
