In just got my first Mavic (2, Pro) after having had half a dozen Phantoms.

I bought the Fly More bundle as well so I have 3 batteries, the wall charger that came with the Mavic, and the car charger that came with the bundle.

All the batteries start charging immediately with the car charger. But when plugged into the wall charger, each battery took 5-10 minutes to start showing that they were charging. I figured the unit was just broken and almost returned it when I finally realized it was just taking a long time.

Now that I have used the batteries a few times to varying levels of charging state, this behavior is the same if the batteries are 10%, 50% or 75%.

So is this normal behavior for the Mavic charger? Kind of a PIA to have to wait and make sure the charge lights start lighting everytime.

That's odd, When I charge my batteries (individually) it takes no longer than 10 seconds for them to show that they are charging. I would say that this isn't normal. I have heard that the batteries have firmware that requires up dating as well but its more a matter of just using the battery rather than actually updating its firmware.

Sounds defective to me

Put the batteries in the multi charger and turn on. It takes a few seconds for the charger to test battery levels and sort out the order to charge. The battery that needs the least time to charge to full will start and when charged the next fullest battery will start and so on till all batteries are charged.
There is nothing wrong with the charging unit.

Really it takes 5-10 minutes to show they are charging? The op said he’s had phantoms in the past and those all charge sequentially the same way so I cant imagine it should be that different for the mavic 2

I tried the multi-charger too to see if there were different results and there was not. However, that would be understandable if it took a little time if there were many batteries. But I'm specifically talking about the single wall charger and plugging in a single battery.

I have emailed DJI and requested a replacement.

I’m using the 4 battery unit for my M2P batteries. I get maybe 10 sec delay before charging begins. I also think this time is for the charger to set up the order it will charge the batteries, as stated above. I do like the “set and forget” nature of it so I don’t have to monitor and change anything like a single charger.
FYI, I have more than 4 batteries and discovered that I can remove one that is fully charged, but before all four are charged, and put another one on without interrupting the charger’s cycle.

typical DJI response after requesting support.

My local BestBuy, where purchased, has no other Mavic 2 Pros for sale. I would have returned the whole thing as defective and just purchased another one but that wasn't an option.

I asked DJI what to do and you know, rather than just sending a freaking $20 cord after spending $2,000, they want to open a darn case, have me send the faulty cable back for "diagnosis and repair".

I suggested they just send me the replacement cable ASAP and then I will return the other one. Crickets.

So now I am of the mind of just returning the whole shooting match: The Mavic 2 and the Fly More kit as defective. I'll get a full refund and just go buy it somewhere else. DJI will end up having to square up with BestBuy. So frustrating.

I don't know why I even bother calling DJI, every single time it ends in frustration.
