Hi everyone,
I’m posting to see if anyone has experienced something similar with a Mavic 4 Pro, or has insight into this type of failure.
The drone suffered a loss of communication / link issue, after which it would no longer connect properly. I took it to an official DJI service center in Argentina, where they attempted diagnostics and firmware scans. The issue is that:
- The diagnostic scan never completes (gets stuck at ~20%)
- It throws an error during the process
- Firmware update / recovery fails every time
- They are unable to fully read or communicate with the aircraft
According to the service center, this behavior is consistent with a mainboard / flight controller failure, and they mentioned that this type of board is not repairable, only replaceable. There are no signs of impact, crash, or water damage, and the issue appeared suddenly. Batteries, controller, and external components were ruled out. The unit is now being sent to DJI USA by the importer (the importer is the original purchaser on record, not me as an end user), so I’m waiting for DJI’s evaluation.
My questions are:
- Has anyone here had a Mavic 4 Pro (or similar recent DJI model) fail in this way?
- Specifically: inability to complete scans, persistent communication errors, or confirmed mainboard failure?
- If so, how did DJI handle it (replacement / repair / goodwill)?
Any experience or insight would be really appreciated. I’m trying to understand whether this is an isolated case or something others have encountered as well.
Thanks in advance
