when ever I take off my mavic won't hover. It just keeps gaining altitude. I try to film a game and I deal with it going up up and away. Then I try and lower it and it wants to land. How can I turn off the press down auto land? When I fly something I want it to decrease altitude when I press down, not land. It's so annoying

Is this something that recently began to happen or did it come out of the box this way? That's really not normal at all. It sounds like a bad RC or something that has 2 positions, max up or max down. Pressing down should have to be held in place to land, not just pushed once.

I'd start looking for how to do a factory reset of all drone settings and go from there. If it still happens I'd probably contact DJI. Hopefully someone has a better answer.

Do you have anything installed beneath and/or hanging below your Mavic?

Sounds like the bottom sensors are being obstructed. Check to make sure there's nothing stuck below it.
