Dear friends!

I decided to "paint" my Mavic Mini. On AliExpress found an interesting offer. Bought immediately colored propellers and motors protection. In this video:
0:15 unpacking
1:10 unpacking motors protection
2:20 unpacking color propellers
5:00 the removal of the original propellers
6:40 engine and propeller protection installation process
9:30 starting the engines in idle mode

The new videos will demonstrate indoor flights on new propellers.

Thanks for watching!

It should be noted that this likely goes against two of the rules from DJI:

Only use official DJI propellers.
DO NOT block any of the ventilation holes on the motors.

I'm curious what their response would be if you had an accident with the drone.

yep, do not use the motor covers.
Motors are open for a reason.

I guess it's yet to be established if it's for cooling or weight management.

Cooling.
Always been that way.
The rotating bell support arms act like tiny fan blades to cool the core.
Look at other motors:

I'm missing the bell support arms, what are those. If you're talking about the coils, I've always ever seen motors have those.

Best nomenclature I could come up with.
the part that extends from the rotating bell (outer motor housing that spins) to the center bearing.
First two photos have the screw holes in them.

Oh okay, got it, thanks. I'm still not sure if they help with cooling though. But you might be correct.

Ben at this for almost 5 years and built home made drones.
Even ones closed at the top had vent like ports on the side.
There are sealed brushless motors out there but those are built to withstand the heat.

Oh that helps. Thanks for the clarification. Not getting the covers then.

The covers, I think, are more for design. If you use one battery for flights, the covers will not spoil the motors. But for my More Fly Combo 90 min flight covers can be harmful, you're right
