New mini owner here. This morning I could see & use the gimbal dial, then it went missing and I couldn't see it / find it etc.
Any clues please?

the gimbal dial is the wheel on the left hand side of the RC which you use to move the gimbal up or down and when you do this a scale appears on the screen to tell you its positionThanks for the welcome.
The gimbal dial in the app (appears as three dots I think) that lets one change the angle of the camera from 0 to 90degrees by pushing up or down.
I could use it in my first flights of the day then haven't seen it after that.
no problem i try to limit the times i touch the screen, as when its sunny the finger marks make it harder to see, i always use the switches on the top of the RC to start stop video and take pics, and on my MPP i have designated the two switches on the rear of the RC for focus and battery levels , the MM unfortunately does not have these features,Right, so I must have sounded like an idiot. I have now found the physical dial to control the gimbal.
That said, I wonder if there's a virtual way to control it - via the app not the physical dial? Because I was controlling it using my device's screen in the first flight - three dots appeared (not the ones in the top right, these were near the landing button on the screen) and I was pushing and pulling them to control it! Then they never appeared again.
Thanks so much for highlighting the physical dial though!!! Lord knows how I missed it's existence.
There is a way to control the camera gimbal using the Fly App display. With everything connected and turned on, hold your finger on the screen just under the battery and time left display. Right where the vertical gimbal display is when you operate the FC rotary knob and the display will magically appear. Continue holding your finger and a circle will show up under your finger and the gimbal will follow your verticle movement. For me it has the benefit of moving the camera in the correct direction. Using the knob wheel I sometimes start the camera the wrong way, with your finger the camera follows it up or down. It has a bit of lag but is super smooth. That said, I wonder if there's a virtual way to control it - via the app not the physical dial? Thanks very much, this is evidently what I did by accident, and then I was confused why I couldn't see it the next time! There is a way to control the camera gimbal using the Fly App display. Give it a try and let's hear what you guys think. As the motors don't have to be sparked up you can try it indoors even with no gps lock and low light warnings.
You can also adjusted the speed of the gimbal in the app.New mini owner here. This morning I could see & use the gimbal dial, then it went missing and I couldn't see it / find it etc.

Yes WildWayne, it's a nice feature to be able to adjust the speed of motion and also allows upward tilt. For some reason I find the gimbal speed of when using my finger on the display has a slower movement/response than when using the FC dial. When the white circle appears you can slide your finger a little sideways out of the way and watch the circle for a more precise positioning. You can also adjusted the speed of the gimbal in the app.

Gimbal and Camera
Gimbal Profile
Mavic Mini's 3-axis gimbal provides stabilization for the camera, allowing you to capture clear and stable images and video. Use the gimbal dial on the remote controller to control the camera’s tilt. Alternatively, enter the camera view in DJI Fly. Press the screen until a circle appears and drag the circle up and down to control the camera’s tilt.
The gimbal has a tilt range of -90 ̊ to +20 ̊ by enabling “Allow Upward Gimbal Rotation” in DJI Fly. The default control range is -90 ̊ to 0 ̊.
I haven’t used the gimbal control from the app/display.
