So when the Mavic Air 2 came out, I was a bit confused with how DJI names their mavic line of drones.
With the Mavic 2 naming convention, it looked like the formula was this: Mavic + Generation + line (Pro, Zoom, Air, and Mini).
Generation 1 doesn't get a number, which makes sense.

But now with Mavic Air 2, the formula doesn't work anymore.

Can anybody else here more knowledgable than me make sense of the current naming convention?

Still better than Microsoft - Xbox, Xbox360, XboxONE. Yeah much much better!

There are three Mavic lines: The Mavic, the Mavic Air, and the Mavic Mini.

So it goes [line]+[generation(If other than 1st)]+[Specialized subcategory(if exists)]+[Specialized option (if true) ]

I like your naming convention, but what's up with everyone then calling their soon-to-arrive shipment a MA2 - Mavic Air 2, and not Mavic 2 Air?
And should we expect to see a Mavic 2 Mini some day?

I like this and it makes sense for the current line up.

DJI calls it the Mavic Air 2 so the [line] is "Mavic Air" and the [generation] is "2".
The next Mavic mini would be Mavic Mini 2, following brett8883's convention
