Hello gurus! I just finished repairing my 2nd hand Mavic 2 Pro (replaced left rear and right front arms) and it flies great and everything seems to work, but I’m getting these error messages: “Infrared sensor error” and “Hardware malfunction”. No specific error code numbers.

When I put the drone back together, I realized I did not connect the ribbon cable on the bottom plate to the core board, so I removed it and connected it, ensured it is firmly seated, but the error messages are still present.

The drone does seem to land a bit harder than other DJI drones I’ve owned, leading me to believe at the very least, the downward IR sensor is not working. I successfully calibrated the vision sensors, but it seems like that has no affect on the IR sensor. I also don’t believe the upward IR sensor is working. When I power on the drone and have Go4 open, and put my hand over either IR sensor, nothing happens in the app (no audio or visual clues that there is an obstacle). Thoughts on what the issue could be?

Performed a 2nd sensor calibration and same issue. I hoped this would resolve the issue as I did the initial calibration with that ribbon cable unplugged, but no luck. Tested drone again powered on and DJI Go4 open and connected and bottom sensors will not read anything less than 5’. Top sensors I saw get as low as 2’, so pretty sure I have a bad lower IR sensor.

That sounds like you Do. Also when you connect those cables back to the main board apply some electronics silicone to them to secure the connection otherwise they will vibrate loose in flight.
