When taking Panoramas, I'm sometimes lazy and use automatic exposure. I like to take 3 exposures: 0 -1 +1 EV values. I can then create an HDR Panorama.

When doing this, I have noticed that the EV controls sometimes stop working (after being fine initially). This seems to be a software issue rather than hardware as non of the methods to alter EV values work (dial on the remote control, the button I have configured to alter EV, or the EV adjustment in the camera exposure controls).

Its not a major issue (as manual control can be used to set the exposures) but it is frustrating.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have experienced that as I usually shoot in aperture priority.I quickly switch to manual and back to aperture priority and it fixes the problem.

I think in Pano mode, all bets are off. The program has it's own ideas about exposure (especially in auto) and the EC setting is not static. I think the EC change even happens in manual mode.

Of course, in the middle of a pano, there is no option to switch to manual, then back again.

I thought the poster was referring to stitched panos, not the in camera panos.

Thanks for this: I’ll give this switching a go!

What I am getting at is the actual process of capturing Panoramas: when you try and change the EV value in full auto mode, it sometimes fails to respond
