Mavic Pro - does it maintain a constant altitude when in follow me mode?

The first time I tried the "follow me" mode with my Phantom 3 I crashed it into a tree and that was the end of that Phantom 3.

Although it had been mentioned in the tutorial YouTube I watched at the time it did not sink in that the Phantom 3 maintained the same altitude when in the "Follow Me" mode. I now have the Mavic Pro and so far have not been able to find a specific reference to the ability of the Mavic Pro to change altitude and keep a constant height above ground when in this "Follow Me" mode.

Can anyone advise please. Thanks

I dont think it will adjust height in follow me, but it will increase altitude in Active track, but wont descend. I believe.

I tested this a few weeks back, it won't descent automatically, but you can make it descend with stick input to the liftoff altitude meaning you can't go lower (minus altitude)
