Mavic Pro gimbal slight tilt and dent after crash

Yep I crashed it. The terrain follow mode didn’t follow terrain very well. Aside from busted props, the only other damage I can see is a dent on the gimbal above the camera and I “think” the arm is slightly tilted. Maybe a bend in the mounting plate?

How bad is this? Everything seems fine. I was able to calibrate the gimbal and the imu and it’s not crooked with the horizon. Seems to have full range of motion. Should I bother trying to bend it back? Send in for repair? I bought this thing 5 days ago and also paid for care refresh. Am I just being picky if everything else seems normal?

Yes, the anti vibration plate might be bent. You can try gently to bend it back but might break it off in the process.

I hate to say this (being a drone repair guy), but

1. If you are not OCD about how the drone looks
2. if your pictures horizons are level
3. if your gimbal calibrates to 100%
4. if you dont mind possibly having to adjust gimbal roll to +10 or -10 to offset the bent plate

then dont mess with it at all! If you snap off that plate by trying to bend it back, you will have to take the drone apart to replace it, and you will be in a world of hurt.

Thank you very much for the quick reply! I will leave it as is for now. Usually I am quite ocd about my toys not being 100% like new but it is barely off and so I’ll live with it.

Sometimes, even if you are a tad on the OCD side, you just have to let go and relax.You are off to a good start, if you fly it as is. Whenever I feel myself getting OCD about something, I sit down and listen to this for a few minutes lol
