Mavic Remote ID

Aeroscope isn't the FAA's Remote ID. It's a separate system that DJI has offered for many years now.

Am I correct to understand that we now have remote ID in the latest update for mavic 3?
Kt appears yo br callef "Arroscope"
My answer to your thread from Monday is still relevant today:

To help expand on this a pinch . . .

AeroScope is a DJI product that is used to detect (and potentially assume control) of UAS flying in proximity to the unit. It has absolutely nothing to do with the FAA's Remote ID program and should not be confused with it. For more in-depth information about DJI AeroScope:

Thank you.
I looked into this further and I discover that Aeroscope does appear to broadcast the basic info tentatively needed for the RID regulation. But it seems to be designed to be used for air space security.
What would the average 107 PIC use this feature for ?

Aeroscope isn't for the "average" 107 or ANY PIC! It's designed to locate rogue (or potentially rogue) aircraft flying in restricted airspace. IT doesn't BROADCAST the RID information it intercepts and decrypts it for Law Enforcement and similar uses. It's not for PIC but for Law Enforcement Agencies.... local, state, and Federal. It allows them to locate, decrypt the signal, locate the aircraft and OPERATOR, and if needed to issue an over-ride command forcing the aircraft to land or RTH. THIS IS NOT FOR OPERATORS!!!

You can bet your bottom dollar there will be several units scanning the airwaves at the upcoming Super Bowl.

Given recently published YouTube videos and news accounts, I’m surprised they’re not scanning at all major sporting events now. Maybe it’s too cost-prohibitive, and Remote ID is coming anyway.

But in the Mavic 3 it appears that I can turn this On or Off.

Several DJI Aircraft have DJI's version of RID which means nothing in terms of what the FAA is going to require. We simply don't know what is going to be required when the final specs are released but it's likely DJI can make their systems "Compliant" with very little effort but that's purely SPECULATION because RID hasn't been released from the FAA yet.

Just because it's called "Remote ID" or whatever doesn't make it compliant especially for a Not-Yet-Released standard. No different than the emergency flashers on your personal vehicle making it a Fire Truck.
