I viewed this yesterday. I hope he didn't spend $999 just to show off. Maybe he received his as a promo from DJI.
On the same link is the guy who dumped his Mavic into a river and rescued it after what seem like a long time submerged.
The climax is spectacular for Mavic owners and "waiters" like myself.

They end up getting compensated in the long run if they can get enough views/subscribers.

I also saw it yesterday. Pretty amazing what abuse the Mavic can take. I'm sure you've seen the video below as well. I like it even more. I'm amazed how the Mavic can lift a full water bottle with it being so off balance, under one prop.
