Mavic won't connect to anything via cable!?

Somebody please help me.
My recently purchased mavic(not new) won't connect to anything.
The Mavic and RC are connecting together though.
I can't get dji assistant 2 to recognise it it just doesn't respond when plugged in to laptop.
I tried dji go4 with my galaxy s7 bit that wouldn't connect.
I then installed litchi on my galaxy s7 and that also wouldn't work.

I'm now assuming that I'll have to buy a tablet. Thinking of nexus 7 or ipad mini2.

Any help greatly received.

I would hold off on another device until you do some troubleshooting; what is the operating system on the laptop? Try plugging in the drone (turn it on) to the computer then turning on the laptop. When you turn on the package do it in this order, RC, app then drone. Lastly see if you can borrow a friend's iPhone. Good luck and post your updates.
