Had a scare yesterday, Mavic 2 Pro disconnected from my smart controller mid-flight without any warning at a distance of 100 meters from origin. Red light on the controller. Restarted the controller several times but no connect. Luckily it returned home and I hand-caught it on a ladder whilst it was hovering (camera running and all) nearby. Turned it upside down like a beetle and that switches off the engines indeed. Had a stiff drink and a good night's sleep.
This morning I restarted, the connection did not come on automatically so I used the 'connect' option on the controller and pushed the button on the drone, but it did not connect with several tries.
My action now would be to use a friend's controller (smart or otherwise) to diagnose whether there is a hardware issue with the controller, or with the drone.
Any thoughts ?
